The small town of Cahuita with a Caribbean flair, a large part of the inhabitants speak Creole English. Most of the original inhabitants of the village are dark-skinned and came to Costa Rica via Jamaica to work on the construction of the railway line or on banana plantations. Sun, beach and reggae - in Cahuita you can immerse yourself in the Caribbean way of life. The culture of the predominantly black population here shapes the picture on the Caribbean coast of the country. During the day you can stroll along the white sandy beach in the national park under palm trees, swim in the pleasantly warm sea or snorkel in the largest living coral reef in Costa Rica. There are also numerous excursion possibilities in the tropical lowland rainforest in the area, we particularly recommend a visit to the Gandoca-Manzanillo nature reserve. In the evening the nightlife awaits in Cahuita or in nearby Puerto Viejo. Try the excellent Creole cuisine and let yourself be enchanted by the rhythm of the Caribbean.
