From the ground floor of your house and garden you have the most spectacular view deep into the Panamanian territory.  In a direct line, the Sixaola river which is the border line with Panama, is not more than 5 km from where you are now.  From your garden you look into Panama. Your view on a good day is more than 50km of untouched rainforest in front of you.  If you visit the house location on Google maps, this is the best way to see how excluded from everywhere you actually are. This off the grid house was built during 2 years of a complicated construction. Building so far of the grid does not make things particularly easier.  The property measures just over 1 hectare. It is More than just a lote. Part of it is pristine forest and bounders with the other properties of Bio Caribe. This property has a small flat area of around 1000 m2 on the highest elevation part. Within the Bio Caribe Project, this lot is located on the section of: off the grid Properties. The house, however is equipped with 2700 watts solar panels and can be used as any normal house. The water is harvest from the roof. With over 40,000 liter water deposit located under the barn, you will not run out of water.  The filter installation was imported specially from The USA to assure the water quality.

The House:

The house is completely off the grid with 12 solar panels. You produce your own electricity, both cold and hot water from a sun heated solar hot water boiler are installed. The house is equipped with a natural air-cooling system through underground pipes where the air is cooled to the natural ground temperature. Two Shipping containers are staged on top off each other in an angle and different spaces are added to the containers. Through these additional spaces you loose the feeling of being in a square box completely. On three levels, wooden terrace roughly double the living space of the 90m2 floor space.  Your bathroom is most likely one of your favorite places to be in the house. The vintage bathtub, Victorian style, looks over the rainforest. From the terrace on your top roof, you can look into all directions with wide views. A yoga deck on top of the house waits for you to be used.
